Along the cliff-top promenade you will find Victoria Gardens. The traditional bandstand hosts a variety of artists each afternoon during the summer months. There are coffee shops, ice cream parlours and restaurants galore all within close walking distance of the flat. Many of these allow you to dine whilst overlooking the bay - Friday and Saturday night booking is recommended.
You can sit by the harbour and watch the yachts as they compete or spot the larger vessels and ferries which use the English Channel to reach the continent. For the more energetic, there are many cycling and walking trails for you to enjoy. There is a 18 hole golf course at Northforeland (5 mins drive) and a 9 hole golf course at Manston (10 mins drive). Charles Dickens loved to holiday in Broadstairs – Bleak house (now privately owned) is situated here together with the Dickens House museum. The Broadstairs Dickens Festival ( Sat 20/06/09 to Wed 24/06/09 ) and Broadstairs Folk Week ( Fri 07/08/09 to Fri 14/08/09 ) are two popular summer events when the area is buzzing.
Further afield you may like to visit Manston airport RAF museum; Ramsgate harbour; Whitstable; Canterbury ; Port Lympne zoo etc. or even a day trip to France ? On Sundays, you will find a warm welcome at Queens Road Baptist Church (5 mins walk) – details available at www.broadstairsbaptist.org.uk So, enjoy a break at our flat and you can decide whether to make it a busy one or a relaxed and chilled time.
